Local Spotlight
Southwind Marina + Jaime’s Seafood Shack
If you’re looking for a coastal spot that feels like a local secret—but delivers a full experience—let me introduce you to Southwind Marina paired with Jaime’s Local Seafood Shack.
We stopped in for lunch, and it truly checked every box: laid-back atmosphere, incredible food, waterfront views, and that authentic Gulf Coast charm!

More Than Just a Marina
Southwind Marina isn’t just a place to dock your boat—it’s a full experience. Located just minutes from Perdido Key and Pensacola Beach, it’s a convenient and scenic stop whether you arrive by land or water.
The marina offers charter boats for fishing, dolphin cruises, diving, and sunset trips, along with a ship store stocked with snacks, drinks, and essentials. It also features fuel, fish cleaning stations, and upgraded docks.
It’s very much a family-friendly, come-as-you-are kind of place—perfect for a casual afternoon or a full day on the water.
The Food: Jaime’s Seafood Shack (Don’t Skip This)
Tucked right into the marina is the star of the show: Jaime’s Local Seafood Shack—a waterfront seafood truck that has quickly become a local favorite.
This isn’t your average food truck. It’s known for fresh, high-quality seafood, tacos, sandwiches, and baskets served with a view of the water.
What We Ordered (and Loved)
Lobster Roll – buttery, packed with fresh lobster, and absolutely worth it
Jerk Shrimp Tacos – bold flavor with just the right kick
Italian Sub – a perfect non-seafood option that still delivers
The menu is simple but intentional, and everything comes out fresh and fast—exactly what you want for a relaxed marina lunch.
The Vibe: Waterfront + Tiki Bar Energy
One of the best parts is the atmosphere. Between the dockside seating, boats coming and going, and the relaxed coastal energy, it feels like a mini vacation.
Add in the tiki bar vibes, and it’s easy to lose track of time. You can grab a bite, sip a drink, and just take in the view—pelicans flying by, boats coming and going, and that unmistakable saltwater breeze. There’s even live music on weekend evenings, which really brings the place to life. The tiki bar especially becomes a lively, can’t-miss spot as the sun goes down.

Bonus Points: Dog Friendly
If you’re bringing your pup along, you’re in luck. Jaime’s Local Seafood Shack offers outdoor seating where dogs are welcome, making it an easy stop for the whole crew.
Why You Should Go
Fresh, flavorful seafood, a casual welcoming atmosphere, boat access with charter adventures, scenic waterfront views, and dog-friendly seating all come together in one spot.
Whether you’re heading out on a charter, docking for the day, or just looking for a unique lunch spot—this place delivers.
Final Thought
Some places feel manufactured for tourists. This isn’t one of them. Southwind Marina and Jaime’s Local Seafood Shack feel real—good people, great food, and a setting that keeps you coming back.
We’ll definitely be back.
